I am sorry this posting is so late. I was out of town last Friday and I am still playing catch up. Neither grade level has homework tonight. Math's Mate is due on Friday.

Wednesday

7th grade: They need to finish "Congress and Pizza" and study for tomorrow's quiz over scatter plots.

8th grade: They need to study for the quiz over perfect squares.

BOTH GRADE LEVELS NEED TO TURN IN MATH'S MATE TOMORROW, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25!

Tuesday

7th grade has no homework tonight. We are working on a group work activity in class.

8th grade has homework tonight. They need to complete the exponent WS "What is the feeling you get from math?"

Math's Mate is due Thursday!!!

Monday

7th grade students worked on scatter plots. I returned their Braves Project, so they should have a score to report to parents.

8th grade students started on exponents. They may have a small amount of homework if they did not finish a worksheet in class. Also, they have a quiz Thursday over the perfect squares of 1-25.

No homework over the weekend.

7th grade has been working on scatter plots.

8th grade starts their new unit on exponents on Monday.

Tuesday

7th grade students turned in their Braves projects today. They can be turned in tomorrow for half-credit. They do have homework tonight. They must complete "Wet Whiskers". They have a quiz tomorrow over box and whisker plots and stem and leaf plots. We will start learning about a new graph on Thursday: scatter plots.

8th grade probability projects were due today. They do have homework tonight - completing the connected math packets. We have worked on these in class for two days and they are due tomorrow. They have their final probability test tomorrow. We will start working on exponents Thursday.

Monday

The only homework for both grade levels is to complete the project due tomorrow.
Both classes have tests on Wednesday.

NEW INFORMATION

There is a new link under websites that is labeled "Link to Documents." This will lead you to a google docs page with the latest projects posted. Hopefully, this will allow parents to access these documents at home.

Friday

Both grade levels have a project due on Tuesday. They also have quizzes on Wednesday. 7th grade will be quizzed over box and whisker plots and stem and leaf plots. 8th grade will take their final quiz over probability.

Wednesday

8th grade students worked on probability again. They have no homework tonight, but their project is due next Tuesday.

7th grade received their project yesterday: A Statistical Analysis of the Atlanta Braves. It is due next Tuesday, but they will have a project work day this Friday. Please remind your child to bring materials to work on their project. In class, we are working on box and whisker plots. We have employed a new technique to help your child with the content. The students are now keeping math journals with notes and examples for the students to have as a reference to study and help with homework and projects.

Monday

7th grade reviewed mean, median, mode, and range today. We will soon start a new graph: the box-and-whisker plot. The students will receive their culminating project tomorrow is will be due next Tuesday, September 16. Please remind your child of our late work policy.

8th grade received their project today. This project must be completed with a parent, guardian, or older sibling. It is due next Tuesday, September 16. Please remind your child of our late work policy.

7th grade has a small amount of homework to complete "Where's the Middle?"

Both grades have their Math's Math due tomorrow. Both grades will also receive their project for this unit next week.

Wednesday

No homework tonight. Remember that Math's Mate is due on Friday!

Tuesday

Both grade levels have started a new homework program, "Math's Mate." They will bring home a worksheet on Monday, or the first day of the week. It will be due on Friday or the last day of the week. Parents are asked to sign the work each week. The students will bringing home a letter today that explains the purpose of this program. It is a diagnostic program that helps us identify each child's strengths and weaknesses. I have encouraged the students to try their best. They may not be able to do all of the problems, but I want them to try every question on their own. I have asked them not to work with partners and not to use calculators. Please encourage your child to follow these guidelines. If you have anymore questions, please let me know.
