Thursday

7th grade has begun working on mean, median, mode, and range. They have some problems to finish tonight for homework. They are allowed to use a calculator on this assignment. If they do not have a calculator at home, they may come to my room tomorrow morning to use one of my calculators.

8th grade is still working on probability. They have homework tonight over probability of multiple events.

Wednesday

7th grade may have a small amount of homework tonight if they did not finish "Spirit Sports Wear" letter in class.

8th grade does not have any homework tonight. We are still working on probability of compound events.

Tuesday

7th grade and 8th grade students have a worksheet to finish tonight if they did not finish it in class.

Friday

7th grade does have a small amount of homework this weekend. They have to complete "When is your birthday?"

8th grade does not have any homework over the weekend.

Wednesday

The 7th grade went over their quiz today. They will start their unit on data analysis tomorrow. They have no homework tonight.

The 8th grade does have a small amount of homework tonight if the did not finish the assignment in class.

Tuesday

7th grade has no homework. We start our unit on data analysis tomorrow.

8th grade has homework tonight over total possible outcomes/counting principle.

Monday

7th grade remember that you have a quiz tomorrow. Please study.

8th grade has started their unit on probability. They have a small amount of homework tonight.

The 7th grade may have homework this weekend if they did not complete the work in class. Their quiz is on Tuesday. Please remind your child to study.

The 8th grade will start their new unit on Monday on probability.

I apologize for the delay in today's blog post, but our internet was down at school all day.

8th grade continued to work on review. They have homework tonight reviewing dividing fractions. Their quiz is Friday.

7th grade worked on adding fractions today. We are slightly behind our schedule, so our quiz will be postponed until Tuesday. They may have homework tonight if they did not finish their work today in class.

I am very excited to start a new school year, and I look forward to working with each of you. One of the ways that you can stay involved with your child's learning is to check our blogs on a regular basis. I will post assignments several times a week to keep parents informed of our activities. This week we are focusing on reviewing basic skills. In 7th grade, that means reviewing operations with fractions and decimals. In 8th grade, we are reviewing operations with fractions, decimals, and integers (positive and negative numbers). Both grade levels may have homework based upon how much work they completed in class. Both grade levels can also expect a quiz this Friday over their basic skills.
